WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a wonderful hands-on healing technique. It is made up of two words Japanese words: Rei which means The Wisdom of God or Higher Power and Ki, which is the Universal Life Force Energy flowing through every living inhabitant of this planet. It was re-discovered by a Japanese, Dr. Mikjao Usui who called it Reiki.
Reiki is a completely natural and safe method of healing for both humans and animals. Animals, like humans have physical bodies and an energy system through which life force energy flows. This energy system is made up of energy bodies, which in turn have energy centres called chakras and are responsible for circulating the life force energy though the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. Energy meridians and nadis (energy channels) connected to the nervous system, transport life force energy
throughout the physical body nourishing and balancing it.
Dis-ease is a result of an imbalance or disturbance of the energy flow through the body. During a Reiki treatment the energy clears the blockages, promoting healing on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, returning the body to a state of harmony and wellbeing.
Behavioural and emotional problems, aggression, fear and pain are eased with regular treatments. As with humans, animals also retain the cellular memory of all traumatic present life and past life experiences in their bodies, which regular Reiki treatments can assist in healing. This is especially effective for abused animals adopted from animal shelters as Reiki can be directed to heal the memory of the trauma and abuse retained in their cells.
Please note: Reiki should never be substituted for veterinary treatments, but the two work well together and offer the animal a quick effective healing option.
Hawaiian Reiki Master Hawayo Takata sums up this wonderful healing gift as:
“I believe there exists One Supreme Being – the Absolute Infinite – a Dynamic Force that governs the world and universe, it is an unseen spiritual power that vibrates and all other powers fade into insignificance beside it. So, therefore, it is Absolute.
I shall called it “Reiki”
Being a universal force from the Great Divine Spirit it belongs to all who seek and desire to learn the art of healing.
